Course Details

Compliance to Workplace & Safety Qld standards and requirements. Advanced skills in machinery operation including attachment checking, worksite suitability, accessories and load shifting tasks. Re-testing of theory in machinery operations as well as verbal and practical knowledge.

We cater for both corporate clients and private individuals who wish to develop their employment skills and abilities.

Start your training by studying the ’Formal Training’ in the classroom, looking at and discussing safety issues and DVD’s, discussing the theory required for the theory assessment and discussing the regulations under which you will be operating.

Formal training can be conducted at Industry Training Qld’s facility. Industry Training Qld has a clean modern training facility located at Bohle, Townsville, where the classrooms are all air-conditioned.

We can carry out the training at any suitable site and are prepared to travel to help you fulfil your training needs.

Our Trainers are all competent industry experienced and qualified and accredited by the appropriate regulatory authorities.

Duration

Alternatively you can also have the informal training (the on the job practical training) done by your WH&SQ licenced colleagues at your workplace on a log book scheme.

Before obtaining the log book, the student must, by regulation, have completed their “formal training” (the safety and classroom theory). We can do the Formal Training with the student, either at our premises or yours. We will then issue and implement a log-book for the student to record their training experience.

This process takes about 4 to 5 hours.

Log books are valid for 6 months.

The student then does informal training (nominal hours) under the supervision of a ticketed operator (who we have interviewed and instructed in how to use the log book and as to what to teach the student) at your workplace.

‘Nominal hours’ means enough hours to become competent on the machine, 40 hours is a suggested number for all of these machines.

The student, when competent, is then assessed by our trainer / assessor, both for the theory and practical aspects of operation. This process takes a day.
